Time for my tri-annual LJ update! I've been busy drawing with my newish Intuous 3 tablet, and taking requests and blah blah blah. Here's the most recent pic: ( A Formal Occasion, Poster/PS painting ) So, other than that I've picked up some new equipment to expedite the recording process, so hopefully I'll be able to drop some new tracks on you all soon. Got a Tapco micro-mixer and am ordering a midiNES cartridge. I know, I'm an awesome nerd, but I'm totally going to write music with my NES. None of you try to stop me, or I'll cut you. Head count: If anyone actually still uses LJ and reads this crap, comment this post.

I tried to update this thing before Halloween, but the bastard kept locking up in both of the browsers I use. Thanks a bunch, LJ. I probably shouldn't be allowed to use the internet, because when I do I inevitably create things like this:    I've been spending a lot of free time participating in a thread called "Doodle Chat" in the art forum I mod at http://www.vgf.com/forums It's a videogame website, so most of the requests for drawings I get are videogame-related. But, this is a topic where you're supposed to communicate by drawing pictures. It's pretty cool, because I don't have to search my soul for inspiration deep enough that I'd consider drawing just for myself. I've got some other pictures in the works (ones that I've been spending a lot of time on), but I've been procrastinating and drawing in that thread, instead. I'm horrible at self-motivating, in that instance. As a result of all of this, Ash and I have been trying to get together some ideas for a webcomic we want to write. The "Doodle Chat" topic on VGF has been a good place to demo what I want to do, and the humor I put into the pictures has been fairly well-received there. I'd love to have some in-context pictures to share here and everywhere else, but most of them have been related to the topic on VGF. Guess that'll have to wait for a debut of the comic, if we ever get it together. |

I just got some new comp speakers, Edifiers, and they are pretty solid. I'm looking forward to mixing on a system with an awesome sub again. ^_^

First and foremost, HAPPY BIRTHDAY COLETTE. You are now officially older, although it obviously has no particular significance upon your age. Secondly, I got to swim with wild dolphins. It was brief, and they went in front of me and underneath me. Cool. Thirdly, Ashlee and I finished our (first) metroid plushie.

So I went to the fabric store (Spotlight) to get some fabric today. I'm going to be making a plushie Metroid (from the videogame series of the same title) with Ash's help, since I haven't had any experience sewing anything in the past 12 years. It should be fun. The store didn't really have quite the appropriate color green for the "body", so I instead opted to make a stylized one with a brownish, cotton, camo-pattern material and some cool rough-looking red fabric. The colors match pretty nice, so I'm psyched about that. I got the design from here: www.metroidhat.com I also was playing around with Photoshop recently, and tried to come up with a way to make a decent digital-camo pattern. I think it turned out pretty awesome: ( Image here, clicky ) And while I'm talking about awesome camo things, if I haven't mentioned it yet, I got a pretty sweet camoflauge-pattern desk-chair for cheap a few weeks back. It helps me stealth through the jungles of the internet, so I can get in ur base and be killin ur d00dz.

It's raining here, and I am all about that shit. It seems like we never get rain. Well, we really just don't get rain. Now it's pouring down, and it's like heaven. Ash and I watched the sun rise after work today. It came up and made the whole eastward sky a soft pink, which faded into the dark violet-grey of the clouded sky. I wouldn't use the word beautiful to describe it, if I could help it, but that's exactly what it was; beautiful and captivating. We stopped the car on the way out off campus, and just watched. That was fun. I'm sure I'll remember it for a long time. |
